The Buena Onda spirit
The story of Buena Onda began around 18 years ago when Bertrand, affectionately known as “Baba”, left his native France for San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. His idea was to create a welcoming meeting place for travelers from around the world, where people share much more than a room.
In 2021, Sandra, Jimmy and Charlie discovered this character-filled place and saw the beginning of a new family adventure: settling in Nicaragua themselves and growing the Buena Onda spirit while improving comfort, facilities and hospitality.
During the first two years, major renovations transformed the property, including the addition of a swimming pool. Through every improvement, the goal remains the same: preserve Buena Onda’s friendly spirit while offering a more comfortable, welcoming and memorable experience.
Today, Buena Onda keeps evolving around a simple philosophy: meaningful connections, genuine hospitality and enjoying everything San Juan del Sur has to offer. Good People. Great Vibes.
